Draw your own Philadelphia City Council district and calculate its 'compactness' score. Have you drawn a logically distributed district, capturing adjacent block groups? Or have you drawn a salamander just like good ‘ol Elbridge Gerry? Get a small taste of what it is like to draw a legislative district. This is just the beginning...
So what's next?
Directions
  1. To begin, click on the map to place a point.
  2. Continue placing points to define the district boundary.
  3. When you have finished drawing your district, double click to complete the polygon.
  4. To modify your district, click the Edit button. Change the boundary of your district by clicking and dragging the orange circles on the boundaries of your district
  5. To update the calculation of your district's compactness scores, click the Evaluate button.
  6. To start over, click the Clear Drawing button.
